Joining & Reporting

Placement to Mang'u is through the national selection process. This page carries joining information, reporting details and everything a family needs after placement.

How placement works

There is no web application form

As a national school, Mang'u admits students through Kenya's centralised selection and placement process — not through an online application. Placed students receive an official admission (calling) letter with reporting instructions.

1 · Selection

Top-performing candidates are selected nationally on merit, with quota and affirmative-action places across every county.

2 · Calling letter

Placed students receive an admission/calling letter with reporting date, requirements and the fee structure.

3 · Reporting

Families confirm the place by reporting on the published date with the required documents and boarding kit.

Reporting

Reporting dates & procedure

To be provided: reporting date and time, the reporting procedure, and what each student should carry.

Admission criteria

Mang'u admits top performers from across the country. Historically, applicants have needed introduction letters from a local chief, a pastor or parish/mission priest, and their primary-school head. Places are offered through the national quota, with affirmative action for students from marginalised and semi-arid areas, and support for bright students from financially-challenged backgrounds.

Requirements & shopping list

To be provided: the uniform list, boarding kit, personal effects and documents to carry on reporting day.

Fees & payment

Mang'u's fees are government-regulated. The fee structure and payment channels are published on the Fees & Bursaries page.
