MANG’U HIGH SCHOOL GOLF TOURNAMENT

Thanks to the organizing committee of the Mang’u alumni association the first edition of the Mang’u High School Alumni golf day was held at the par 71 Muthaiga Golf Club on Friday 3rd August, 2018.
The event was open for participation by members of the public and was attended by over 170 participants including Mang’u alumni who participated in the tournament.
Prizes were awarded to the winners at the gala dinner thereafter that was officiated by the Hon. Moody Awori who is also an alumnus of the school. The winners walked away with amazing prizes and participants enjoyed and evening of entertainment and networking.
The event is aimed at raising funds towards several Mang’u school projects. These include providing bursaries for needy students, renovation of the school boreholes, water reticulation system and replacement of the asbestos roofs to improve rainwater harvesting. The event will be hosted once a year and is open for participation by Mang’u High School alumni and members of the public. Participants pledged to continue supporting Mang’u High School through participating in more events hosted by the school.
The Mang’u Old Boys Group is active and has opened an office at the school. The main objective is to keep track of the Mang’u Old Boys and reunite them. They are also represented on the Board of Governors and have a dorm named in their memory. The Alumni Office has a lot to offer the Mang’u Old Boys. Some of these benefits will include social events such as sports and other leisure activities. These in turn create an opportunity to form business and professional networks that come with mutual benefits. This is just in addition to the primary benefit of reuniting with old friends and sharing fun times together.
